Industrialised Building System
“Industrialised Building System (IBS) is a building system in which structural components are manufactured in a factory, on or off site, transported and assembled into a structure with minimal additional site works.”
IBS implies the extensive use of pre-fabricated or modular components which are assembled on site with minimal personnel in the most speedy and efficient manner.
In Malaysia, many projects, particularly in the construction of buildings, bridges, drains and other infrastructure have utilised IBS extensively. Famous examples of IBS constructions are the Petronas Twin Towers, Sepang International Circuit and Stadium Bukit Jalil.
